172.2 Ah at the 20-hour rate to 1.75 volts per cell at 25°C. Listings across the trade, our own included until this rebuild, have carried 176 Ah for this part, and C&D's technical data table does not support it. The gap is small in absolute terms and it matters on a string sizing worksheet, because a series string carries one block's amp-hour rating: size a 480 VDC string on 176 Ah and every block in it is 3.8 Ah short of the assumption.
What torque do the M8 front inserts take?
160 in-lbs, which is 18 N-m, on every front-terminal High Rate Max block. That is well above the 110 in-lbs the top-terminal models take on their 1/4-20 UNC inserts, so a crew moving from a top-post string to an MRF string needs the torque wrench reset before the first connection. Prepare the lead faces with a brass brush and an antioxidant grease first.
