 Shipping

We ship with UPS, USPS, and FedEx, and we quote live carrier rates at checkout with no markup added. What the carrier charges us is what you pay.

What shipping costs

Orders $75 and upFree standard shipping.
Orders under $75Flat $8.00 rate.
Expedited serviceAvailable at checkout on most products, priced at live carrier rates.
Oversized and freight itemsLarge batteries and pallet orders ship by LTL freight. Freight is quoted per order, so cost and lead time appear on your quote rather than at checkout.

When your order ships

Orders placed before 2 PM ET, Monday through Friday, ship the same business day when the item is in stock and not otherwise noted on the product page.
Orders placed after 2 PM ET, on weekends, or on holidays ship the next business day.
Special-order and manufacturer-direct items carry a lead time that varies by brand, from a couple of business days to about two weeks. If your item has a lead time, we tell you before you buy or as soon as the order comes in.
Tracking is emailed as soon as the label is created.
Expedited shipping is not available on every battery. Conventional motorcycle batteries (the kind shipped dry, with an acid pack) and primary lithium products move under hazardous materials rules that restrict them to ground service. If you need one of these fast, call us before you order and we will tell you what is actually possible.
Something wrong with the address? Reach us the same day you order and we can usually correct it before the label prints. Once a package is moving, the carrier controls it, and address changes may not be possible.

 Returns & RMA

You have 30 days from the delivery date to request a return. Every return needs a Return Authorization (RMA) before you ship anything back, so we can track the package to your order and refund you without delay.

How to return something

1Request an RMA. Use our return request form, email orders@techbatterysolutions.com, or call 1-877-775-4381. Have your order number ready.
2We send return instructions. You get the RMA details, the ship-to address, and a return label option, usually the same business day.
3Pack the battery properly. Follow the packing steps below. Batteries that arrive damaged because of packing are refunded at a reduced amount.
4Ship it back. Use our prepaid label or your own carrier. If you ship it yourself, send us the tracking number.
5We inspect and refund. Returns are processed within five business days of arriving at our warehouse. Refunds go back to the original payment method.

Who pays for return shipping

Return shipping is the customer's responsibility on a change-of-mind or wrong-item-ordered return. To keep the cost down, we can send you a prepaid label at our commercial UPS rate, which is usually well below retail. The label cost is deducted from your refund and we tell you the amount before you commit.

You are not obligated to use our label. Ship it yourself if you can do better, and send us the tracking.
We do not mail physical return labels. Labels are sent by email.
If the return is our error or a confirmed defect, we cover return shipping. See Damaged, lost or wrong and Warranty.

What you get refunded

New and sellable conditionFull refund of the item cost. Original outbound shipping is not refunded.
Dents, scratches, or significant wearRefunded less a restocking fee of up to 25%, based on condition on arrival.
Non-sellable conditionNo refund. We will send you photos of what we received and hold the item for 30 days if you want it back.
Missing hardwareBattery hardware (bolts, nuts, terminal covers) must come back with the battery. Missing hardware is deducted at up to $5.
Returned with no RMANot guaranteed a refund. Unmarked packages are difficult to match to an order.
Conventional batteries that have been filled with acid cannot be returned. Once acid goes in, the battery is activated and it is neither legal nor safe for us to resell it. This applies to conventional motorcycle, powersports, and similar dry-shipped batteries. If a filled battery is genuinely defective, that is a warranty claim rather than a return, and we handle it under Warranty.
Bought on Amazon or eBay? Returns for marketplace orders run through that marketplace's own process and timelines, not this page. Start the return in your Amazon or eBay account. You are welcome to call us first, since an exchange or a warranty claim is often a faster fix than a return.

How to pack a battery for return

Batteries are heavy and the terminals are live. Packing them correctly is what keeps your refund whole.

1 · Prepare the battery
Disconnect and remove it safely. Cover both terminals with electrical tape or terminal caps so nothing can short. Wipe off dirt and debris. Photograph any damage before you pack it.
2 · Gather materials
A sturdy corrugated box, double-walled if you have one. Bubble wrap or foam for at least two layers around the battery. Packing peanuts or crumpled paper for the gaps. Heavy-duty tape.
3 · Pack it tight
The battery should not touch the sides of the box. Put 2 to 3 inches of cushioning underneath, wrap the battery, center it, fill every gap, then add 2 to 3 inches on top. Shake the box gently: nothing should move.
4 · Seal and label
Tape all seams. Put the return label on top. Mark "CONTAINS BATTERY" and "FRAGILE" on at least two sides.
5 · Include paperwork
Put a copy of the RMA notification inside, in a plastic sleeve. Keep your shipping receipt and tracking number until the refund posts.
6 · Use a tracked service
Always ship with tracking. Without it, there is no way to prove the battery reached us if the carrier loses it.
Do not ship a damaged, swollen, or leaking battery. Call us at 1-877-775-4381 first. A compromised battery is a hazard in transit and we will arrange a safe way to handle it.

 Damaged, lost, or wrong item

Inspect your shipment when it arrives. If something is wrong, tell us right away. Carrier claim windows are short, and the sooner we know, the more options you have.

If your battery arrives damaged

Send us three photos before anything else: the outer box and packaging, the damage on the battery itself, and the shipping label. We cannot open a carrier claim or send a replacement without them, and the photos also tell us how bad the damage actually is.

Cosmetic damage
A scuff or dent in the case that does not affect how the battery performs. We will tell you honestly if that is what we are looking at. If you would rather not keep it, your options are a 15% partial refund, a free return for a full refund, or a free replacement. On a replacement we send a prepaid label so the original comes back to us.
Functional damage
Cracks, leaks, broken terminals, or anything that compromises how the battery works. We file the carrier claim, ship a replacement at no cost to you, and send new tracking. You do not pay for the replacement or the return.
Freight and pallet deliveries: inspect before you sign. If the pallet or any carton looks damaged, note it on the bill of lading with the driver before signing, and photograph the pallet as it was delivered. A clean signature makes a freight claim very hard to win. Check the full contents within three business days and tell us what you find. You can refuse a delivery outright, though that is usually only worth it when most of the shipment is damaged.

If your package is lost

If tracking stalls or shows delivered and nothing arrived, contact us. We file the claim with the carrier and stay on it, and we get a replacement moving. You do not have to chase UPS yourself.

If you received the wrong item

Our mistake, our cost. Call or email with your order number and a photo of the label on the item you received. We send a prepaid return label and ship the correct battery right away.

 Warranty

A warranty claim is different from a return. A return is for a battery you no longer want. A warranty covers a battery that failed from a manufacturing defect inside its warranty period. Warranty length and terms are set by the manufacturer and vary by brand and by product line, so the coverage on your battery is whatever that manufacturer publishes for it. We handle the claim for you either way.

Who pays return shipping on a warranty

Within 60 days of purchaseWe cover return shipping on a confirmed warranty claim.
After 60 daysYou cover shipping the battery back to us. We can supply a prepaid label at our commercial rate if that is cheaper than what you can get.

How to file a claim

1Get a voltage reading if you can. A resting voltage on a multimeter tells us a lot and often resolves the question in one call. If you do not have a meter, skip this and we will work it out together.
2Contact us through the warranty request form, at orders@techbatterysolutions.com, or by phone at 1-877-775-4381.
3Have these ready: order number, model or part number, serial number, whether a conventional battery has been filled with acid, a description of what the battery is doing, and photos of the battery and its terminals.
4We evaluate and process. Some brands are handled in-house and some go through the manufacturer's own claim process. We tell you which applies and we manage the paperwork on your behalf.

What a warranty does not cover

Melted or burned terminals. This is caused by charging or installation, not by a manufacturing defect. If it happens, call us and we will walk through safe charging practice so it does not happen to the replacement.
Physical damage, abuse, or improper installation, including reversed polarity and over-torqued terminals.
Batteries used outside their rating, or run in an application the manufacturer does not list.
Normal capacity loss over time. Every lead-acid battery loses capacity as it ages. That is wear, not a defect.
Batteries left discharged. A lead-acid battery that sits flat sulfates and will not recover. Use a maintainer on anything stored.
Not sure whether you have a defect or a charging problem? Call before you file anything. Our technicians diagnose batteries all day and can usually tell from the symptoms and a voltage reading. It costs you nothing and it is faster than shipping a battery that turns out to be fine.

 Common questions

How long do I have to return a battery?

Thirty days from the delivery date. Request a Return Authorization (RMA) before you ship anything back.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

On a change-of-mind or wrong-item-ordered return, yes. We can supply a prepaid label at our commercial UPS rate and deduct it from your refund, and you are free to ship it yourself instead. If the return is our error or a confirmed defect, we cover it.

Is there a restocking fee?

Not on a battery that comes back new and sellable. A battery that arrives with dents, scratches, or significant wear is refunded less a restocking fee of up to 25%, based on its condition. A battery in non-sellable condition is not refunded.

Can I return a conventional battery that I already filled with acid?

No. Once a conventional battery is filled it is activated and cannot be resold. If a filled battery is defective, we handle it as a warranty claim instead.

How fast will my order ship?

In-stock orders placed before 2 PM ET Monday through Friday ship the same business day. Special-order and manufacturer-direct items carry a lead time that varies by brand, and we tell you what it is.

My battery arrived damaged. What do I do?

Send us three photos: the outer box, the damage on the battery, and the shipping label. We file the carrier claim and get a replacement or refund moving. On a freight delivery, note the damage on the bill of lading before you sign.

How long does a refund take?

Returns are processed within five business days of reaching our warehouse. Your bank or card issuer may take a few days more to post it.

How do I start a warranty claim?

Call 1-877-775-4381 or email orders@techbatterysolutions.com with your order number, the model and serial number, and a description of what the battery is doing. A resting voltage reading helps. We take it from there.
