Why Pure Lead Holds Up on Float
- Holds a charge in storage for up to 24 months - relevant if you are buying the last of a run to hold as spares.
- Rated for extra service life at a sustained 40°C (104°F) - specified for cabinets that run hot rather than derating steeply in them.
- Made in the USA in plants run to strict lead-containment standards.

Where This Battery Is Used
- Central offices and cell sites - the -48V plant string that carries the site until the generator picks up.
- Cable and broadband plant - node and hub cabinets where a truck roll costs more than the battery.
- Emergency lighting and egress systems - code-driven backup that an inspector will actually test.
- Rail signalling and transit - wayside cabinets that swing through a full temperature year.
- Oil, gas and remote telemetry - unmanned sites where the next service visit is scheduled, not immediate.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which warranty term applies to my site, 3 years or 18 months?
It turns on the average day ambient where the batteries actually sit, not the room's design temperature. Take a reading across a full duty cycle in the warmest season. At or below 77°F you are in the 3-year tier, and above that up to 95°F you are in the 18-month tier. Any remaining stock carries the same terms as new production, and we put the applicable figure on the quote in writing.
Should I match the old battery or replace the whole string?
If the string is more than about two years into service, replace the set. A new cell in an aged bank gets pulled down to the weakest unit's capacity, so you pay for 100Ah and get whatever the tired cells allow. Matching one unit makes sense only on a young string or a documented single-unit failure.
Is the SBS-100F a drop-in for the NSB100FT RED?
It is the successor EnerSys names for this role and it fits the same front-terminal pattern, but confirm the tray dimensions and terminal hardware against your rack before you order. Send us the rack detail and we will check it against the SBS-100F drawing rather than let you find out on install day.
What is the difference between the NSB RED and the NSB HT RED?
They are separate sub-lines with separate documentation and different warranty terms, so the numbers do not carry across. If your site runs hot, the NSB100FT HT is the one to look at. If you are unsure which is in your rack, send a label photo.
Why is there a four-unit minimum order?
Each battery weighs 72 lbs and moves by freight, so a single-unit shipment costs nearly what four cost. The minimum keeps the per-unit freight sane and matches how these strings get built.
Send the quantity, your delivery ZIP and your requested-by date. A specialist confirms what is available, prices the current equivalent, and documents freight in writing, with no obligation to buy.
