The NSB100FT HT RED is discontinued. What replaces it?

EnerSys names the PowerSafe SBS-100F as the direct replacement, and we stock it. Both are 12 volt front-terminal pure lead blocks at the same nominal capacity, so the swap is normally a like-for-like shelf fit, but the case dimensions and the terminal hardware are worth confirming against your tray before a full string is ordered rather than after it arrives. Send a photo of one existing block's label with the quote request and a specialist will state the fit, the hardware needed and the price difference in writing.

Can I still buy the NSB100FT HT RED itself?

Sometimes, and only while remaining stock lasts. Production ended in Q3 2024, so availability is checked on the day rather than promised on a page. If you need to match an existing string exactly, say so in the quote request and we will tell you honestly whether the count you need can be filled under this part number or whether the string should be planned around the successor.

What is the difference between HT RED and standard RED?

The warranty and the high-temperature behavior. Capacity is unchanged between them: both are thin plate pure lead front-terminal blocks with a 15-year design life at 20°C and a -40°C to +65°C operating range. The HT RED build adds sustained operation at 40°C (104°F) as a published characteristic, and EnerSys warrants it for four years against three for standard RED. In a hot cabinet the HT build is the one drawn for the site.

Is this a lead carbon battery?

No, and an older version of this listing said otherwise. It is thin plate pure lead, which is a different technology: NorthStar's process removes the alloys and additives a conventional grid needs, producing thinner and larger plates with more surface area, higher power density and lower internal resistance. Lead carbon adds carbon to the negative plate to improve partial-state-of-charge cycling, which is a different design aim. The correction is on the page and in the product attributes.
