NorthStar NSB110FT HT RED Battery - Pure Lead - High Temp
NorthStar NSB110FT HT RED Battery - Pure Lead - High Temp
NorthStar NSB110FT HT RED Battery - 12V 110Ah Pure Lead AGM, Front Terminal
Warranty
Full Depth, Under Nine Inches Tall
- 110 Ah at the 10-hour rate - to 1.80 volts per cell at 25°C, the rate telecom reserve is specified on.
- 3,800 amps short-circuit current - at approximately 2.7 milliohms internal resistance, for DC-side protection coordination.
- Same 22.0 by 4.92 inch footprint as the whole large HT range - so shelf depth and width are settled and only the pitch needs checking.
- -40°F to 149°F operating range - with shelf life up to 24 months before a freshening charge is due.
- Non-hazardous for ground, sea and air - flame retardant to UL 94 V-0 with an LOI of at least 28 percent.

Where This Battery Is Used
- Cabinets with tight shelf pitch - the enclosures built around a nine-inch battery bay, where the taller HT blocks will not clear and a standard AGM would otherwise be the only option.
- Outdoor and unconditioned telecom sites - macro cells and remote huts running warmer than a standard AGM is warranted for.
- Central offices and inside plant - -48 volt strings on 23-inch shelves with every connection made from the aisle side.
- Public safety and transportation systems - alarm, surveillance and roadside controller reserves that hold through a summer peak without a service visit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why choose the 110FT over the 155FT in the same footprint?
Vertical clearance. Both stand on the identical 560 by 125 mm base with the same female M8 terminal, so floor area and shelf depth are the same either way. The 110FT is 227 mm to the terminals and the 155FT is 280 mm, a difference of just over two inches. Where the cabinet takes the taller block, the 155FT gives 40 percent more capacity for 31 more pounds and is the better buy. Where the pitch was set for a nine-inch bay, the 110FT is the only one of the two that goes in, and more reserve then comes from adding a parallel string rather than a taller block.
Why is the design life quoted at 68°F when the block is built for 104°F?
Because EUROBAT rates every design life at 20°C (68°F), so blocks from different makers can be compared on one basis, and the 15-year figure on this sheet is that reference number. Heat shortens the service life of any lead-acid block, the HT build included. What the HT build adds is sustained operation at 40°C (104°F) as a published characteristic, on a pure lead grid that corrodes more slowly than a conventional alloy one when the cabinet runs warm. Send the cabinet temperature profile with your quote request and a specialist will talk through what the heat means for service life at your site.
How do I turn 110 Ah into a reserve time?
Work from the load and the end voltage rather than the label. Telecom reserve is specified as a load held for a number of hours to a defined end voltage per cell, and the capacity available falls as the discharge rate rises, so a 110 Ah block does not deliver 110 amps for one hour. Divide the plant load by the number of parallel strings to get the current each string must carry, then check that current against the reserve duration you need. Send the plant load, the reserve target and the end voltage and a specialist will run the calculation and state the string count in writing with the quote.
HT RED or standard RED for my site?
Measure the cabinet rather than the outside air. Both are thin plate pure lead front-terminal blocks with a 15-year design life at 20°C and a -40°C to +65°C operating range. The HT build adds sustained operation at 40°C (104°F) and a four-year EnerSys warranty, a year longer than standard RED. An unconditioned cabinet spends much of the year well above room temperature inside even when the air outside is mild, which is why the HT build usually wins on service life.
Send the bay height, the string voltage, the quantity and your delivery ZIP. A specialist confirms the 8.94 inch clearance against the bay height, checks the M8 hardware, and quotes the set with lead time and freight in writing.
