NorthStar NSB145FT HT RED Pure Lead - High Temp Battery
NorthStar NSB145FT HT RED Pure Lead - High Temp Battery
NorthStar NSB145FT HT RED Battery - 12V 139Ah Pure Lead AGM, Front Terminal
Warranty
A Footprint of Its Own
- 139 Ah at the 10-hour rate - to 1.80 volts per cell at 25°C, the rate telecom reserve is specified on.
- 3,940 amps short-circuit current - at approximately 2.5 milliohms internal resistance, for DC-side protection coordination.
- 99 lbs on a wide, shallow base - a four-block string runs about 396 lbs and sits lower than an equivalent 22-inch arrangement.
- -40°F to 149°F operating range - with shelf life up to 24 months before a freshening charge is due.
- Non-hazardous for ground, sea and air - flame retardant to UL 94 V-0 with an LOI of at least 28 percent.

Where This Battery Is Used
- Cabinets shelved for a wide, shallow block - the enclosures this footprint was drawn for, where a 22-inch battery overhangs and a narrow one wastes the width.
- Outdoor and unconditioned telecom sites - macro cells and remote huts running warmer than a standard AGM is warranted for.
- Emergency lighting and medical standby - occupied-building reserves where the UL 94 V-0 case rating is part of the specification.
- Intelligent transportation and public safety cabinets - roadside and network reserves that hold through a summer peak without a service visit.

Frequently Asked Questions
The width and height on this page changed. Which figures are right?
The ones here. NorthStar's per-model sheet gives a case of 427 by 160 by 253 mm, which is 16.81 inches long, 6.30 wide and 9.96 to the top of the terminals. An earlier version of this listing published 6.9 inches wide and 9.6 tall. The width error is the one that matters: six tenths of an inch per block across a four-block row is nearly two and a half inches of shelf, which is the difference between a string that fits and one that does not. If a cabinet was laid out against the old figure, recheck it before the order.
Why is this block a different shape from the rest of the HT range?
Because it serves a different cabinet. The 110FT, 155FT, 170FT and 190FT all stand on a 22.0 by 4.92 inch base and differ only in height, so they interchange freely. The 145FT is 16.81 by 6.30, five inches shorter and an inch and a half wider, which suits an enclosure with depth limits rather than height limits. It is not a drop-in for the 22-inch family in either direction. Send the internal bay dimensions with the quote request and a specialist will confirm which footprint your cabinet is built for.
What does EUROBAT Very Long Life mean?
It is the top of the four design-life groups that EUROBAT, the European battery manufacturers' association, uses to classify stationary VRLA blocks, and it covers designs rated for 12 years or more at 20°C (68°F). The NSB145FT HT is rated for 15 or more years at that reference temperature, which places it in that group. A design life describes how the block is engineered to age on float at the reference temperature; heat, deep discharges and charging practice all move the service life a real site sees. It is the figure to compare between suppliers, and the one to write into a specification when the plant is planned around a long replacement cycle.
Is 139 Ah close enough to replace a 145 Ah specification?
It is what NorthStar publishes for this part, so the question is really what the specification was written against. The per-model sheet gives 139 Ah at the 10-hour rate to 1.80 volts per cell at 25°C, and the part number is a family designation rather than a measured figure, as it is across this range. If a plant design names 145 Ah as a hard minimum, this block does not clear it on paper and the 155FT at 154 Ah does, on a different footprint. If the design has normal margin, the six amp hours make no practical difference. Send the reserve calculation and a specialist will say which case you are in.
Send the internal bay dimensions, the string voltage, the quantity and your delivery ZIP. A specialist confirms the 16.81 by 6.30 inch footprint against the shelf, checks the M8 hardware, and quotes the set with lead time and freight in writing.
