NorthStar NSB210FT HT RED Pure Lead - High Temp Battery
NorthStar NSB210FT HT RED Pure Lead - High Temp Battery
NorthStar NSB210FT HT RED Battery - 12V 212Ah Pure Lead AGM, Front Terminal
Warranty
The Top of the HT Range
- 212 Ah at the 10-hour rate - to 1.80 volts per cell at 25°C, the rate telecom reserve is specified on.
- 6,000 amps short-circuit current - at approximately 2.7 milliohms internal resistance, for DC-side protection coordination.
- 145 lbs per block - a four-block string runs about 580 lbs, which is worth checking against the shelf rating before ordering.
- -40°F to 149°F operating range - with shelf life up to 24 months before a freshening charge is due.
- Non-hazardous for ground, sea and air - flame retardant to UL 94 V-0 with an LOI of at least 28 percent.

Where This Battery Is Used
- Central offices and switching centers - the -48 volt plants sized for the longest reserve, where capacity per shelf inch is what the design is optimizing.
- Outdoor and unconditioned telecom cabinets - macro cell sites and huts running warmer than a standard AGM is warranted for.
- Data center and microgrid plant - installations whose specification names the 15-year design life and the EUROBAT classification.
- Medical standby and public safety networks - reserves that have to hold through a summer peak without a service visit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will the 210FT drop into a cabinet built for the 190FT?
Usually, and it is worth measuring first. The 190FT case is 22.0 by 4.92 by 12.6 inches and the 210FT is 22.0 by 4.96 by 12.9, so the difference is four hundredths of an inch in width and three tenths in height. In a shelf with normal clearance that is nothing. In a cabinet sized tightly around the 190FT, three tenths of an inch of height and thirteen pounds of extra weight per block are exactly the margins that get used up. Send the internal bay dimensions and the shelf rating with the quote request.
How do I handle a 145 lb block?
With a lift table or two people, and never by the terminals. At 145 lbs the NSB210FT HT is the heaviest block in the HT range, and a string of four puts about 580 lbs on the shelf, so check the shelf rating before the pallet arrives. Lift from the base of the case, keep the block upright, and make the interconnections only once every block in the string is seated. If the site has no dock, ask for a liftgate delivery when you place the order.
How does 212 Ah translate into reserve hours?
Work from the load and the end voltage rather than the label. Telecom reserve is specified as a load held for a number of hours to a defined end voltage per cell, and the capacity available falls as the discharge rate rises, so a 212 Ah block does not deliver 212 amps for one hour. Divide the plant load by the number of parallel strings to get the current each string carries, then check that current against the reserve duration you need. Send the plant load, the reserve target and the end voltage and a specialist will run the calculation and state the string count in writing with the quote.
HT RED or standard RED at this size?
Measure the cabinet rather than the outside air. The standard NSB210FT RED gives 204 Ah against 212 here, and the cases are close but not identical: the RED is 4.9 inches wide and 13.02 tall against 4.96 and 12.9 on this block, so check the shelf before treating them as interchangeable. The HT build is rated for sustained operation at 40°C (104°F), and its EnerSys warranty runs four years to the three on standard RED. A large plant in an unconditioned room spends much of the year running warm, which is where the HT build pays for itself in service life.
Send the bay dimensions, the shelf rating, the plant load and your delivery ZIP. A specialist confirms the 12.9 inch clearance against the cabinet, checks the string count against the published capacity, and quotes the set with lead time and freight in writing.
