Leoch XP12-150FR High Rate AGM Battery
Leoch XP12-150FR High Rate AGM Battery
Leoch XP12-150FR Battery - 12V 150 W per Cell High Rate AGM, 35Ah, M6
Warranty
The M6 Block for Mid-Size Rack UPS
- 162.7 amps for 5 minutes - to 1.67 volts per cell, with 80.0 amps at 15 minutes and 26.4 amps for a full hour.
- 35 Ah at the 20-hour rate - to 1.80 volts per cell at 25°C, 1.75 amps for 20 hours, the figure to use if the block is ever asked to run a long, light load.
- 980 amps short-circuit current - at approximately 8 milliohms internal resistance, fully charged, for DC-side protection sizing.
- Virgin lead plates, copper alloy inserts - low resistance at the plates and at the posts, so the voltage holds under load instead of sagging into the inverter's low-volt cutoff.
- 100 percent capacity tested - every XP block is discharge tested and matched on voltage and internal resistance before it leaves the plant.

Where This Battery Is Used
- Rack-mount UPS, 2 to 6 kVA - the network room and small server room systems whose internal battery trays are built around a 7.7 by 5.1 inch block with M6 hardware.
- Hospital and laboratory equipment - Leoch lists both among the XP applications: instruments that must ride through a transfer without a reset.
- Emergency lighting and egress inverters - code-driven backup in occupied buildings, where the V-0 case rating is commonly specified.

Frequently Asked Questions
What warranty applies, and is the 12-year figure part of it?
Leoch warrants the XP line for 36 months in UPS service. The 12 years is design life, Leoch's estimate of float service at 25°C from the XP12-150 datasheet, and it carries no replacement commitment. Both figures appear on this page, always labeled, because a listing that runs them together is how a buyer ends up believing in a 12-year warranty. The term is confirmed in writing with your quote.
What does the 150 in XP12-150FR stand for?
Watts per cell over a 15-minute discharge to 1.67 volts per cell at 25°C. Leoch names every XP part by this rating rather than by amp hours because the range exists for UPS duty, and a UPS is sized on power over minutes. Six cells make about 900 watts from one block for 15 minutes. The 35 Ah figure, at the 20-hour rate, is on the sheet as well, and it is the number to use only if the block is ever asked to run a long, light load.
Can the XP12-150FR replace a 35 Ah general purpose battery of the same size?
Physically, often; in a UPS, the swap is usually an upgrade. A general purpose 35 Ah AGM in a 195 by 130 mm case delivers far less of its capacity in 15 minutes than this block does, because its plates were drawn for hours of light load rather than minutes of heavy load. Compare the watts per cell at your runtime and end voltage, not the amp hour labels, and check that the terminal is M6. If the outgoing battery has a different insert or a post, send a photo of it and the quote will state what hardware is needed.
How fast does it recharge after an outage?
Leoch caps the charge current at 0.25C, about 8.75 amps for this block, so recharge time depends on the depth of the discharge and on the charger's own limit, which in most UPS units is lower still. As a working rule, a string is back in the high nineties of capacity after a day on the rectifier's normal recharge setting. If your site runs a short generator-test interval that discharges the string often, tell the specialist, because repeated discharges without a full recharge shorten the life of any VRLA battery.
Send the UPS model, the quantity and your delivery ZIP. A specialist confirms the 195 by 130 mm footprint against the tray, checks the M6 hardware, and quotes the set with lead time and freight in writing.
