Leoch XP12-100FR High Rate AGM Battery
Leoch XP12-100FR High Rate AGM Battery
Leoch XP12-100FR Battery - 12V 100 W per Cell High Rate AGM, 27.6Ah, M5
Warranty
Small Block, UPS Discharge Curve
- 106.4 amps for 5 minutes - to 1.67 volts per cell, from a 27.6 Ah block; 53.3 amps at 15 minutes and 18.0 amps for a full hour.
- 27.6 Ah at the 20-hour rate - to 1.80 volts per cell at 25°C, 1.38 amps for 20 hours, for the rare site that runs it as a long-duration reserve.
- 690 amps short-circuit current - at approximately 14 milliohms internal resistance, fully charged, for DC-side protection sizing.
- Copper alloy terminal inserts - Leoch's XP range uses virgin lead plates and copper alloy inserts to hold connection losses down under high current.
- IATA approved for air freight - sealed, non-spillable, and light enough at 18.5 lbs to fly when a UPS is down and waiting.

Where This Battery Is Used
- Small rack-mount and tower UPS - the 1 to 3 kVA units in network closets and offices, where the internal bay was drawn around a battery about this size and an M5 terminal.
- Emergency power and egress systems - code-driven backup in occupied buildings that see a short discharge a few times a year and float the rest of the time.
- Test and laboratory equipment - bench instruments and small DC supplies where Leoch's high rate plate holds voltage under a short heavy pull.

Frequently Asked Questions
What warranty applies, and is the 12-year figure part of it?
Leoch warrants the XP line for 36 months in UPS service. The 12 years is design life, Leoch's estimate of float service at 25°C from the XP12-100 datasheet, and it carries no replacement commitment. The two figures sit in separate sentences on this page for that reason. The term, including how a claim is handled, is confirmed in writing with your quote rather than summarized here.
Is this a 27 Ah battery or a 100 watt battery?
Both, measured two different ways. The 27.6 Ah figure is the 20-hour capacity, a low current drawn for a long time. The 100 is watts per cell over 15 minutes to 1.67 volts per cell, the figure a UPS runtime table runs on, and six cells make it about 600 watts from the block. The previous version of this listing carried 27 Ah at the 8-hour rate; Leoch's current sheet publishes 27.6 Ah at 20 hours, which is the figure this page now uses. A UPS is sized on the watts, so compare that number, at your runtime and end voltage, against the battery you are replacing.
Why does this page list 4.92 inches wide when the old listing said 6.72?
Because the old figure was wrong. Leoch's XP12-100 datasheet and the XP range summary both give 164 by 125 by 174 mm, which is 6.46 by 4.92 by 6.85 inches, and the weight as 8.4 kg or 18.5 lbs against the 17.4 lbs the listing used to carry. If your bay was measured against the old width, remeasure it; the block is narrower than that listing claimed, so it will still fit.
What charger settings does the XP12-100FR want?
Float at 2.25 to 2.30 volts per cell, which is 13.5 to 13.8 volts on the block at 25°C, compensated at -3 millivolts per cell per degree. Equalization, where the site practice calls for it, runs at 2.30 to 2.40 volts per cell. Charge current is capped at 0.25C, about 6.9 amps for this 27.6 Ah block. Small UPS chargers are normally inside these figures already; the item to verify is the float voltage, because a charger set for a flooded cell will overcharge an AGM block over the years.
Send the UPS model, the quantity and your delivery ZIP. A specialist confirms the 164 by 125 mm footprint against the bay, checks the M5 hardware, and quotes the set with lead time and freight in writing.
