What Do I Use As a Replacement Battery for an APC 1500?
A (hopefully) simple guide to finding out the correct APC replacement battery to use!
The first thing you should do when looking for any APC replacement battery is to locate your backups unit's model number. The model number is located on the back -side of the unit (where the outlets are) on a small white sticker. Searching for your apc replacement battery with your particular units model number will ensure that you get the right battery.
After you have successfully located your APC unit's model number, I recommend that you go to APC's official backups index page. On this page you simply type in your unit's model number and APC will tell you exactly what type and size of battery goes into the unit.
The APC Company does offer a simple plug and play APC replacement battery that is guaranteed to work on arrival. The only downside to this is that they are extremely over priced since they have APC's official brand on them. If you are looking for something a little more cost effective, there are plenty of other sources that sell your particular APC replacement battery.
If you're hands on type, you could remove your APC unit's battery and bring it to any battery retailer to find a replacement. Me personally, I would use the Internet to find a suitable replacement and order it. Just make sure you are ordering it from a reputable company that has been reviewed by other customers as such.
On one last note, I would take into consideration the actual quality of the APC replacement battery you are purchasing. The most common brand of any APC Backups unit is CSB Battery. CSB is regarded as one of the highest quality sealed lead acid battery manufacturers in the business. However, I have recently started seeing APC batteries under the brand "Vision". Unfortunately, I have just started to come across these batteries, so I am unsure on their quality. But since APC is seemingly embracing them, I would have to assume they are of high-quality.
