Samlex PST-150-12 - 150W Pure Sine Wave Inverter, 12V, Cables Included

Some AC needs are measured in phone chargers, not power tools. The Samlex PST-150-12 is a 150 watt pure sine wave inverter for exactly that scale: two protected outlets, a true sine waveform that laptop and camera adapters treat like a wall socket, and a 2.8 pound chassis that stays in the glove box or console until something needs charging. Both DC leads, battery clamps and a 12V plug adapter, ship in the box.

Warranty

Warranty. Samlex America warrants the PST-150-12 for 3 years. Full terms are confirmed in writing with your quote.

Charger-Class Power, Done Properly

Two outlets, not one
A pair of NEMA 5-15R receptacles means the laptop and the camera battery charge at the same time instead of taking turns.
Hooked up in seconds
Clamp the included battery lead on for full output, or reach the 12V plug adapter into the dash socket for lighter duty. No parts to buy.
Built like its big siblings
Same commercial-grade design philosophy as the rest of the PST line, rated for long periods of continuous operation, at one-twentieth the wattage.
  • Pure sine wave, under 3% THD, regulated to 120 VAC within 3 percent; 300 watt surge (under 8 ms).
  • Full protection set: shutdowns for voltage extremes, overload, short circuit and over-temperature, reported through the status LEDs.
  • Low RF emissions and a fan that only runs when the internal temperature calls for it.
  • ETL listed to UL 62368-1 and CSA C22.2 No. 62368-1; FCC Part 15(B) Class B.

Where This Inverter Is Used

  • Daily drivers and work vehicles - laptop and device charging between stops.
  • Camping and boating - camera batteries, lights and small electronics off the 12V system.
  • Field technicians - meters and instrument chargers on clean sine power.
  • Emergency kits - phones and radios charged from any 12 volt battery.

Ordering

Complete in one box. Both DC cables are included, so there is no kit to add. If your loads have outgrown chargers, the PST-300-12 doubles the rating in a similar footprint. Crew or kit quantities: send the count and ZIP and a written quote comes back in 24 to 48 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

PST-150-12 or PST-300-12: which small Samlex?

The PST-300-12 doubles the continuous rating, carries a 500 watt surge allowance and adds a wired remote input. The PST-150-12 is smaller, lighter and costs less. Both arrive with the same two DC cables, so the deciding question is simple: do your loads ever pass 150 watts?

What can 150 watts actually power?

Chargers, mostly, and that is the point: a 90 watt laptop brick and a phone charger together, camera batteries, an LED work light. Nothing with a heating element or a motor; those belong on the 600 watt class and up.

Are the outlets ground-fault protected?

Yes. The inverter shuts down on a detected ground fault through its outlets. Use grounded three-prong (NEMA 5-15P) cords with it so that protection can do its job.

Will it flatten my battery if I leave it connected?

Not quickly: idle draw is under half an amp, and a low-voltage alarm at 10.5 volts with shutdown at 10 volts guards the battery from a deep pull-down. Half an amp still adds up over days of sitting, so switch it off when the vehicle is parked long-term.
