What can a 400 watt inverter run?

Loads whose running watts total under 400: a laptop (60 W), a 32-inch TV (50 W), a CPAP without its heated humidifier (about 60 W), LED lighting, and camera or tool chargers. Heating appliances are out; a coffee maker or microwave draws two to three times this inverter's rating.

Why does pure sine wave matter at this size?

Because small electronics are exactly the loads that stepped, modified sine power damages. Chargers and medical devices run hot, hum, and age early on it. The NTX-400-12 delivers the same waveform as a wall outlet, so your gear runs the way its maker intended.

What is in the box?

The inverter, its DC input cable, and battery clamps. The DC input uses M4 thumb screw terminals that take the supplied cable's rectangular lugs, and two 30 amp automotive blade fuses protect the input side.

Can I mount it next to a two-way radio?

Keep them apart. Like any switching inverter, the NTX gives off some radio-frequency noise. Samlex limits it to FCC Part 15(B), Class A and recommends mounting radios and other sensitive gear as far from the inverter as possible.

What happens if my battery runs low?

An alarm sounds at 11.0 volts and the inverter shuts down at 10.5 volts to protect the battery from deep discharge. It also shuts down on overload, short circuit, high input voltage, and over-temperature; the overload shutdown needs a manual reset, while the temperature shutdown resets itself.
