Frequently Asked Questions
What can a 2000 watt inverter run?
Any combination of loads whose running watts stay under 2000. A sleeper microwave drawing 1400 W can run with lights and a laptop; a 900 W coffee maker, TV, and CPAP together sit comfortably under the limit. The 4000 W surge rating absorbs the brief starting spike of compressors and pumps.
What size battery bank and cables does it need?
At full output the NTX-2000-12 pulls up to 200 amps from the 12V side, so short, heavy-gauge DC cables and proper fusing are not optional at this wattage. The input studs are M9 nut-and-bolt terminals. Tell us your cable run length and battery bank and we will spec the gauge and fuse before you order.
Do I need pure sine wave instead of modified sine?
If anything on your load list has a microprocessor, a variable-speed motor, or a medical use, yes. Modified sine power makes that equipment run hot, buzz, or die young. Pure sine wave costs more per watt and is the reason the equipment you plug in behaves exactly as it does at home.
What comes in the box?
The NTX-2000-12 inverter and the NTX-RC LCD remote with 16 feet of connection cable. DC input cables are not included, since the right gauge depends on your run length.
