Leoch PLX12-620 Pure Lead High Rate Battery
Leoch PLX12-620 Pure Lead High Rate Battery
Leoch PLX12-620 Battery - 12V 145Ah Pure Lead High Rate AGM, M6
Warranty
What the Pure Lead Plate Buys You
- 145 Ah at the 10-hour rate - to 1.80 volts per cell at 25°C, which is the figure to size a long-duration runtime on. Older listings rounded this part to 150 Ah; the current sheet says 145.
- 560.2 amps for 5 minutes - to 1.67 volts per cell, and 338.6 amps for 15 minutes, the two rows that describe a large UPS riding through a transfer and a short outage.
- 121.4 amps for one hour - to 1.67 volts per cell, for the site that needs an hour of bridge before a generator carries the load.
- 3,190 amps short-circuit current - with an internal resistance of approximately 3.5 milliohms fully charged, the numbers that set breaker coordination on the DC side.
- -40°C to 65°C discharge window - charge from -20°C to 54°C, in a PC-ABS case rated UL 94 V-0, heat sealed and 100 percent leak tested.

Where This Battery Is Used
- Three-phase UPS strings - the data center and hospital systems where the runtime target is 10 to 15 minutes at full load and the string is sized on watts per cell, not amp hours.
- High power DC backup - switchgear tripping supplies, testing laboratories and control rooms that pull a large current for a short time and then sit on float for years.
- Engine start and emergency power - starting systems and emergency supplies where the 560 amp five-minute figure does the work once or twice a year.

Frequently Asked Questions
The page says 15 years and 60 months. Which one is the warranty?
The 60 months. Leoch warrants PLX batteries for 60 months with full replacement; no other warranty figure appears on this page. The 15 years is Leoch's design life, an engineering estimate of service under float conditions at 25°C, and it is published on the datasheet as a separate figure. A battery that reaches its design life has done what the engineers modeled; a battery that fails inside 60 months is a warranty matter. The two numbers describe different things and this page keeps them apart on purpose. Terms are confirmed in writing with your quote.
Is the PLX12-620 a 145 Ah or a 150 Ah battery?
145 Ah. The current Leoch datasheet (LB-PLX12-620-PD-EN-V5.3, October 2025) rates it at 145 Ah over 10 hours to 1.80 volts per cell at 25°C, and the 20-hour row of the discharge table gives 7.31 amps, which works out to 146 Ah. Older listings, including the previous version of this page, rounded the part to 150 Ah. If a runtime calculation was done on 150, rerun it on 145; the difference is about 3 percent and only matters on a string sized with no margin. For a UPS the number that sizes the string is the 620 watts per cell at 15 minutes, which has not changed.
How does the PLX12-620 differ from the PLX12-620FT(A)?
Same 620 watt rating, different battery. The PLX12-620 on this page is a top-terminal block, 340.9 by 170 mm and 275.7 mm tall, rated 145 Ah. The PLX12-620FT(A) is Leoch's front-terminal version for 23-inch telecom racks: 559 by 125 mm, 277 mm tall, 150 Ah, 48.5 kg, with the terminals on the front face so a string can be serviced without pulling the tray. If the cabinet was built for one, the other will not drop in. Check the terminal position and the footprint before quoting a swap, and send a photo of the existing block if there is any doubt.
What terminal hardware ships with it?
The standard terminal is an M6 threaded brass insert, Leoch's T8 pattern, and the sheet lists M8 (the T11 pattern) as an optional build. Leoch's range summary also lists a T6 to M6/M8 adaptor for front-terminal parts, and the inter-cell connectors on an existing string set which one you want. Specify the terminal when you request the quote; a string with M8 hardware fed by an M6 battery means new connectors or adaptors, and the quote will call that out rather than leave it to the installer.
Send the quantity, the UPS model or the current battery part number, and your delivery ZIP. A specialist confirms the terminal, the footprint and the lead time, and quotes the full set in writing.
