Where This Battery Is Used
- Compact UPS units carrying real load - the small-case models that protect network gear rather than a single desktop.
- Multi-battery trays on the small footprint - designs that stack this case for voltage and runtime.
- Telecom and security equipment holdover - short-window power where cabinet space is fixed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does a small UPS need a high-rate battery at all?
Because of how the rating is earned. A battery rated for 20-hour discharges delivers a shrinking fraction of its energy as the draw gets faster, and a UPS empties its battery in minutes. The HR series is rated the way the duty runs, in watts per cell over 15 minutes, so the number on the label is the number the inverter gets. In this case size, that is the difference between the runtime you calculated and the runtime you get.
My old battery has narrower terminal tabs. Is that a problem?
The narrow tab is the 0.187-inch F1; this listing carries the 0.250-inch F2. The two do not mate without an adapter, and an adapter adds a resistance point right where the current is highest. CSB builds this model in an F1 version, rated 100 A maximum discharge, and we quote it on request. Match what your connector takes and say which tab you need on the quote.
Can the HR1227W live in a hot closet?
It is rated to discharge at ambient temperatures up to 122°F, so it will do its job in the heat. Living there is a different matter: every VRLA battery ages faster above 77°F, and the design life figure assumes that cooler number. If the closet runs hot year round, plan a shorter replacement cycle or move air through the space, whichever costs the site less.
