Read it as a trade classification and not a performance rating: it addresses where the product comes from, not how the battery behaves. If your solicitation cites a specific clause, send it with the quote request so the compliance wording can be checked against C&D's published statement before anything is ordered.
The 495PLP, 545PLP and 605PLP look identical. How do I tell them apart?
By the label and by the weight. All three sit on the same 345 by 173 mm case at 278 mm over the terminals, because C&D builds them on one jar and changes what goes inside it. The 495PLP is 103 lbs at 140 Ah and 492.0 watts per cell, the 545PLP is 107 lbs at 146 Ah and 542.0 watts, the 605PLP is 113 lbs at 148 Ah and 602.9 watts. Physically interchangeable, electrically not, so match the rating your string was sized on; the case will not tell you.
What temperature range can a UPS12-495PLP be charged across?
-10°F (-23°C) to +122°F (+50°C), and only with temperature compensation in the charger. Discharge is the wider window at -40°F to +140°F. C&D's nominal room band is narrower than either, and a string held near the middle of it ages the way the published figures assume. Outside a conditioned room, send the expected ambient profile with the quote request.
How long will a UPS12-495PLP hold a 25 amp load?
