C&D UPS12-305PLP Pure Lead Plus Battery
C&D UPS12-305PLP Pure Lead Plus Battery
C&D Dynasty UPS12-305PLP Battery - 12V 78 Ah Pure Lead Plus AGM
Warranty
Three Published Capacity Bases
- MSE advanced paste processing - C&D's proprietary paste process puts more of the active material to work, which is what holds float current down across a long standby life.
- Helium leak tested case-to-cover bond - the case and cover are thermally welded, then leak tested with helium before the block leaves the line.
- UL 1778 and UL 1989 compliance - the UPS and stationary battery standards, with UL 924 and UL 94 V-2 also listed for the Pure Lead Plus series.
- No fixed mounting orientation - C&D clears the block for service in any position, so tray layout stays a mechanical decision and the battery puts no constraint on it.
- Two years on the shelf at 77°F - C&D rates the series for storage up to 24 months at +77°F (+25°C) with minimum upkeep before a freshening charge is called for.

Where This Battery Is Used
- Racks built around a retired MR block - cabinets originally specified for the UPS12-300MR, on the same class of footprint.
- Building life-safety panels - fire alarm, egress lighting and elevator control held up through a transfer.
- Municipal and campus data rooms - single-module UPS plant where the ride-through is counted in minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which of the three capacity figures belongs on a UPS sizing worksheet?
Usually none of them. A UPS sizing table asks for watts per cell over a runtime, and for this block that is 315.0 watts per cell at fifteen minutes to 1.67 volts per cell, or 293.9 to 1.75. The amp-hour columns come in when the load is a steady low current held over hours: 9.3 amps for eight hours, 3.9 amps for twenty. Send the load in kilowatts and the runtime you have to hold, and a specialist works the block count off the published row.
Why is the 10-hour figure lower than the 8-hour figure?
Because it is measured differently. C&D's C10 column ends at 1.80 volts per cell and is taken at 20°C, while C8 and C20 end at 1.75 VPC at 25°C. A higher end point stops the discharge sooner and a cooler battery gives up less, so 69 Ah at C10 and 74 Ah at C8 describe the same battery under two sets of conditions. Compare figures only against the same rate, end point and temperature.
How much does a four-block UPS12-305PLP shelf weigh?
232 lbs of battery. Each unit is 58 lbs (26.3 kg), and four of them make a 48V string. Add the rack, the tray and the interunit connectors before checking the shelf rating, and remember the load sits on a 261 by 174 mm footprint per block and is not spread across the shelf.
How does the UPS12-305PLP compare with the UPS12-355PLP?
The 355PLP is one step up in every direction: 94 Ah at the 20-hour rate against 78, 365.5 watts per cell at fifteen minutes against 315.0, and a 306 mm case against 261 mm, at 173 mm wide against 174. It weighs 67 lbs against 58. If the tray has 45 mm of length to spare, the 355PLP buys roughly twenty percent more capacity on the same terminal hardware.
