NorthStar NSB155FT RED Battery - 12V 155Ah Pure Lead AGM, Front Terminal

The NSB155FT RED is a member of NorthStar's standard RED front-terminal range: 12 volts, 155 Ah at the 10-hour rate to 1.80 VPC at 77°F (25°C), measuring 22.0 by 4.9 by 11.0 inches at 117 lbs (53 kg). The terminals are male M6 posts on the front face. The RED build uses 99.9% pure lead electrochemistry and thin plates, which raises temperature and corrosion resistance and slows component aging, and it is drawn for long float life on both reliable and unreliable grids. Design life is 15 or more years at 68°F (20°C), which EUROBAT classifies as Very Long Life. Quoted in sets of four or more.

Why the RED Build Exists

The RED line is NorthStar's long-float-life build, and what earns it that description is the lead. At 99.9% purity the grid corrodes more slowly and the plates age more slowly, so the capacity curve stays flatter for longer than a conventional alloy AGM manages on the same duty. Thin plates give a large surface area, high power density and low internal resistance, which is what lets a front-terminal block this size hold a heavy telecom load down to end voltage. It is built for standby: the battery floats for years and is asked to work a handful of times. Where a site cycles the battery on purpose, the BLUE+ line is the one drawn for that duty. Where the cabinet runs hot, the HT RED build is drawn for sustained operation at 104°F (40°C), and EnerSys warrants it for four years.
