Deka Unigy II Spacesaver Battery Module - 24AVR125-33 (24V Config)
Deka Unigy II Spacesaver Battery Module - 24AVR125-33 (24V Config)
Deka Unigy II 24AVR125-33 Spacesaver System - 24V, 2,000 Ah 2V Cells
Warranty
One Column, 2,000 Ah
- Interlock module design - front bolting only, no rear access needed, front shield fitted without tools.
- Seismic note on the AVR125 - East Penn's flyer certifies AVR125 modules to NEBS Zone 4 up to three modules high; this six-high column is reviewed against the site's seismic requirement with the quote.
- Constant-power figures published - 3,434 watts per cell at the 15-minute rate to 1.67 VPC, so the cell also serves a 24V high-rate duty.
- IEC 60896-21/22, BS 6290, SR-4228 - the standards East Penn designs the Unigy II line to meet; UL recognized component.
- Top or side termination - standard option at no extra cost; side termination adds 3 inches per side to length.
- Float voltage published - 2.25 volts per cell plus or minus 0.01, which is 27.0V nominal for a 12-cell string, with charger settings from the Unigy II manual.

Where This System Is Used
- 24V telecom and transmission plants - microwave, radio and transport sites that run a 24V DC bus and need long reserve at high capacity.
- Utility control power at 24V - substation and switchgear duty where the plant standard is 24V rather than 48.
- Sites with one column of floor space - the single-stack footprint fits a corner the double stack does not.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a 24V system be expanded to 48V later?
In principle the 48V system is two of these columns wired in series, twelve modules for twenty-four cells. In practice a string should be built from cells of the same age, so adding a second column years later puts new cells in series with aged ones and the string performs to its weakest cells. If a move to 48V is likely within a year or two, tell a specialist now; it may be better to buy the 48V system at once, or to plan the second column as a separate string.
What reserve does 2,000 Ah give a 24V plant?
The same hours as any string of these cells at a given current, because a series string carries the cell current. East Penn's table gives 250 amps for 8 hours, 352 amps for 5 hours, and 182 amps for 12 hours, all to 1.75 volts per cell at 77°F. Your plant's DC load in amps is the string current; find it in the table and read the hours across. Send the load and a specialist confirms the reserve against the published row.
Does the 28.63 inch depth include the front shield?
Yes. East Penn's footnote on Form 0983 states the module depth figure includes the front shield. Door and aisle clearances should be checked against the 28.63 inch figure, and against 26.60 inches plus 6 inches if you specify side termination, which adds 3 inches on each side.
Does the 24V system use the same manual as the 48V?
Yes. Both are Interlock module systems and both follow East Penn's Unigy II Interlock installation and operation manual, 2024 edition, linked above. Float voltage, charger current, torque values and commissioning tests are the same per cell; only the cell count and the bus voltage differ. Our installation service, if you take it with the quote, works from that manual.
Send the site address, clearances, termination preference and your requested-by date. A specialist confirms availability, the warranty term, pricing, freight and the system drawing in writing, with no obligation to buy.
