Deka Unigy II AVR45-33 Single 2V Cell
Deka Unigy II AVR45-33 Single 2V Cell
Deka Unigy II AVR45-33 Single Cell - 2V 731 Ah AGM
Warranty
The Largest AVR45 Cell
- Lead-plated solid copper terminals - the Unigy II post design, with a large contact area for the intercell connectors.
- Microcat catalyst - lowers float current and mitigates thermal buildup and cell dryout, standard on the AVR45.
- Impact-resistant polypropylene container - 28 percent limiting oxygen index, with microporous glass mat separators inside.
- Epoxy-coated modules - when assembled into a system, the module steel is coated with a thick layer of powdered epoxy per the flyer.
- Three end voltages published - East Penn's table gives 8, 10, 24 and 100-hour currents at 1.75, 1.78 and 1.81 volts per cell, so a plant with a higher cutoff can be sized from the manufacturer's own row.

Where This Cell Is Used
- Railway crossing and signaling plant - the cycling application East Penn publishes the AVR45 cycle life for.
- 24V and 48V telecom strings built from 2V cells - twelve or twenty-four AVR45-33 cells in Unigy II modules.
- Utility and switchgear control - 120V, 240V and 480V strings where individual 2V cells are specified.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the -33 mean, and can I get a smaller AVR45 cell?
The suffix is the plate count. East Penn's Form 1359 lists fifteen cells from the AVR45-5 at 91 Ah to the AVR45-33 at 731 Ah, in two-plate steps, all 6.70 inches deep and 16.11 inches tall. This page lists the -33; the other fourteen are quoted on request from the same flyer. Send the capacity your plant needs and a specialist names the plate count that meets it.
How does a 2V cell string compare with 12V blocks for a 48V plant?
Twenty-four AVR45-33 cells in series give 731 Ah at 48V; the largest 12V Unigy I block, the 12AVR200ET, gives 200 Ah from four blocks. Cells win on capacity per string and on the ability to replace one weak cell rather than a whole block; blocks win on installation simplicity and on the small-site footprint. Where a plant needs more than a few hundred ampere-hours per string, cells are the usual route, which is where the AVR45 sits.
Why does East Penn publish a cycle life for a float battery?
Because the AVR45 range is sold into railway and utility work as well as telecom, and those applications cycle the battery. The published figure is 2,400 cycles at 20 percent depth of discharge. For a telecom float string that discharges only during outages, the figure is reassurance rather than a sizing input; for a crossing-gate battery that cycles every day, it is the number the replacement interval is planned on.
Does the AVR45-33 come with modules?
The cell is quoted on its own or with the Unigy II modules, connectors and base to make a configured system, the way our Spacesaver system pages are built around the AVR95 and AVR125 cells. Tell us the string voltage and the space available and a specialist quotes the arrangement, or the bare cells if you are replacing into existing modules.
Send the cell count, your delivery ZIP and your requested-by date. A specialist confirms availability, the warranty term, volume pricing and freight in writing, with no obligation to buy.
