Deka Unigy II 24AVR95-33 Spacesaver System - 48V, 1,520 Ah 2V Cells

The 24AVR95-33 is a 48V Deka Unigy II Spacesaver battery system: twenty-four AVR95-33 cells, each 2 volts and 1,520 ampere-hours at the 8-hour rate to 1.75 volts per cell, arranged three wide and eight high in a single interlock stack. East Penn builds the AVR95 cell on a 99.99 percent pure lead positive grid with IPF-formed plates, lead-plated copper posts and a Microcat catalyst vent, and publishes a 20-year design life for it. The Interlock module design bolts from the front only and is certified to UBC 97 Zone 4 stacked eight modules high, which is how this configuration reaches its capacity on a floor footprint of roughly 40 by 28 inches.

Warranty

Warranty. East Penn's term on the Unigy II line is 3 years full replacement under E.P.M. Form 1865. Design life is a separate figure: 20 years in float service at 77°F is East Penn's published estimate for the AVR95 cell. Terms are confirmed in writing with your quote.

Why the AVR95 Cell

1,520 Ah per cell at the 8-hour rate
Rated to 1.75 volts per cell on East Penn's Spacesaver flyer, Form 0975; 1,807 Ah at the 25-hour rate and 2,151 Ah at the 100-hour rate per East Penn's Unigy II discharge tables.
Smaller than the block it replaced
East Penn's flyer states the 48V AVR95-33 configuration is 3.5 inches shorter and 6 inches narrower than the previous Unigy offering, with up to 28 percent more power in the same space than larger competitor cells.
Shipped at 100 percent capacity
Every plate is individually formed by East Penn's IPF process, so the system is at rating on delivery rather than after a conditioning period.
  • Interlock module, front bolting only - the patented Interlock design eliminates rear bolting, and the front shield assembles without tools.
  • Seismic certification - one-piece base Interlock modules meet UBC 97 Zone 4 top-of-building requirements, certified to eight modules high.
  • Microcat vent standard on the 95 - the catalyst that improves high-temperature performance is standard on the AVR95 and AVR125 cells.
  • Standards named by East Penn - Unigy II products are designed to meet IEC 60896-21/22, BS 6290 and SR-4228; UL recognized component.
  • Two-way post and standard 1CU connectors - the connector package supports discharge rates down to the two-hour rate to 1.75 VPC; higher-rate packages are available.
  • Top or side termination - available as a standard feature at no additional cost per the flyer; side termination adds 3 inches per side to system length.

Where This System Is Used

  • 48V central office and hub-site reserve - long-duration telecom plant sized in ampere-hours over eight hours or more.
  • Switchgear and substation control - the applications East Penn names on the flyer alongside telecommunications and UPS.
  • Sites where floor space is the constraint - a vertical stack in place of a rack of monobloc batteries.

Ordering and Freight

A 48V AVR95-33 system ships as cells, modules, base and hardware on multiple pallets, freight pre-paid by LTL or dedicated truck to a commercial address with a dock or forklift; a residential or limited-access delivery adds $100, which is the liftgate and access charge the carrier bills us. Send the site address, the floor and door clearances, your termination choice, top or side, and your requested-by date, and a specialist returns a written quote with the system drawing in 24 to 48 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the 24AVR95-33 sold as one part or as twenty-four cells?

It is quoted as a configured system: twenty-four AVR95-33 cells, the Interlock modules that hold them, the base, the connector package and the front shields. The part number on this page is our configuration designation for the 48V, eight-high arrangement. The same cell is sold in 24V and other configurations, so if your plant is not 48V, say so and a specialist quotes the arrangement you need.

How is the 1,520 Ah figure rated?

At the 8-hour rate to 1.75 volts per cell, on East Penn's Spacesaver flyer, Form 0975. That is the telecom reserve basis. The 25-hour and 100-hour figures in the table come from East Penn's Unigy II discharge tables and apply to lower loads over longer reserves; use the column that matches the reserve time your plant is designed to.

What does Zone 4 certification mean for this stack?

The Interlock module with its one-piece base is certified to UBC 97 Zone 4 top-of-building requirements when stacked up to eight modules high, per East Penn's flyer. This 48V configuration is eight high, so it sits inside that certification. If your site falls under a different seismic code, send the requirement with the quote request and a specialist confirms the documentation East Penn can supply.

Can the system be installed and commissioned by High-Tech Battery Solutions?

Yes. For a system of this size we offer installation and removal of the outgoing string with recycling of the spent cells. Ask for it with your quote and the installation is priced alongside the battery.

Larger 48V Spacesaver systemThe 24AVR125-33 uses 2,000 Ah AVR125 cells in a double stack for plants that need more reserve.
