Where This Battery Is Used
- Single-phase rack and tower UPS - the replacement cell inside a great many 1kVA to 3kVA cabinets.
- Desktop and workstation UPS - clean-shutdown power for a machine you do not want to lose work on.
- Point-of-sale and small server closets - where the UPS is the only backup and nobody notices it until it fails.
- Security, access control and alarm panels - small standby loads on a maintained float charge.
- Emergency lighting and signage - code-driven backup on a replacement cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the UPS12460F2 a 460Ah battery?
No. It is a 9Ah battery. The 460 is watts per unit at the 5-minute rate to 9.60 volts, which is how CSB rates its high-rate UPS series and how UPS manufacturers size strings. CSB's datasheet prints this in the Nominal Capacity row. This is the single most common misunderstanding on this part and it is worth being blunt about: 460 amp hours in this case size is not physically possible.
Why do I see different watt figures quoted for this battery?
Because there are three real numbers and people quote them interchangeably. 460 W per unit at 5 minutes to 9.60V is the nameplate. 444 W per unit (74.00 per cell) is the same discharge measured to 1.67 VPC. 221 W per unit (36.83 per cell) is the 15-minute rate. All three are correct measurements of the same battery; they are not interchangeable, and at least one published CSB catalog has mislabelled which is which. Size against whichever basis your UPS documentation specifies.
Will this fit my UPS?
Check three things: the case is 5.94 by 2.55 by 3.88 inches, the terminals are F2 faston tabs, and the rating is 460W at the 5-minute rate. If your existing cell matches all three, this drops in. F2 and the narrower F1 tab are not interchangeable without an adapter, so check the tab width before ordering.
Why is the warranty only one year?
Because CSB classifies this as a Small UPS product, and one year is the class standard rather than a mark against this particular cell. The design life is 5 years at 25°C. In practice these get replaced on a three-to-five year cycle in any environment that matters, and the honest way to buy them is on price and date code rather than on warranty length.
How do I check how old the battery is?
CSB stamps a date code on every cell. The statement linked above explains how to read it. Ask us for the current date code before you order if you are stocking spares - a battery that has sat on a shelf for a year has already spent part of its life.
