The Unigy II Spacesaver is East Penn's modular 2V AGM system for critical backup power - UPS plants, telecom sites, and switchgear rooms where footprint, seismic rating, and serviceability all matter. Interlock vs. Non-Interlock module systems
One-piece base Interlock™
Front-access mounting bolts only. Per East Penn's certification documentation, Interlock modules meet UBC 97 Zone 4 top-of-building requirements and are certified to 8 modules high at top of building. The interlocking design adds safety when connecting multiple modules and simplifies bank assembly.
Three-piece base Non-Interlock
Front and rear access mounting bolts. Per East Penn's documentation, Non-Interlock modules meet UBC 97 Zone 2B top-of-building requirements (Zone 4 at ground level) and are certified up to 8 modules high on ground level.

Space-saving 2V architecture
Higher energy density per footprint than conventional monobloc layouts - capacity ratings from 234 to 3434 watts @ 15 min, 1.67 v.p.c., in modules from 160AH to 1255AH.
Fast, safe assembly
Two-way solid copper posts (lead-plated) for maximum conductivity; modules stack and connect using only four bolts. Open spaces let middle cells cool by convection.
Built for the long float
East Penn rates the Unigy II line at a 20-year design life in float applications. Mounting bases are powder-epoxy coated and terminals sit under clear flame-retardant covers.
Configured to your plant
Non-Interlock: 6 cells/module (5-15 plates, 160-550AH) or 3 cells/module (17-33 plates, 630-1255AH). Interlock: 4 or 6 cells (5-15 plates), 2 or 3 cells (17-33 plates). We size the string to the load, not the other way around.

Cell construction and terminals
Unigy II cells use East Penn's plate formation technology in a sealed AGM design - solid copper, lead-plated terminals for maximum conductivity, flame-retardant terminal covers, and powder-epoxy coated mounting bases. Terminal options cover the standard Spacesaver module configurations; the exact hardware for your string is confirmed on the written quote.
