Some inverters get plugged in; this one gets installed. The Samlex PST-3000-12 is a 3000 watt power inverter built to be wired into a system: a hardwire terminal block feeds a sub-panel or transfer switch, a GFCI-protected duplex outlet on the front covers the corded loads, and both can share the 25 amps of output. It turns a 12 volt bank into 120VAC pure sine power for the service trucks, boats, and off-grid buildings that treat the inverter as infrastructure rather than an accessory.

Built to Be Wired In

Hardwire or plug in
The terminal block takes fixed wiring to a distribution panel or transfer switch; the GFCI duplex outlet handles everything with a plug. No adapters, no choosing one or the other.
Ignition-controlled power
A remote input terminal switches the inverter with the vehicle ignition or any external contact, so the AC system comes up with the truck and shuts down with it.

How is the PST-3000-12 different from the NTX-3000S-12?

Both are Samlex 3000 watt pure sine wave inverters. The PST-3000-12 adds a hardwire terminal block, GFCI protection on its duplex outlet, and a 3 year warranty in a heavier 21.6 pound chassis; the NTX-3000S-12 is lighter, ships with its remote included, and offers three breaker-protected outlets instead. If the inverter will be permanently wired into a panel, the PST is the one built for it.

Can it feed a transfer switch or breaker panel?

Yes. The hardwire terminal block takes fixed wiring to a distribution panel or to a transfer switch such as the Samlex STS-30 for automatic shore-to-inverter switching. Follow the manual's neutral and grounding instructions, and have the AC side landed by someone comfortable with panel wiring.

What size 12 volt bank does it need?

At full output the inverter can pull up to 360 amps, which is why the internal protection is twelve 30 amp fuses. That draw is beyond a single starting battery; plan a deep cycle bank that holds voltage above 10.7 VDC under load, and send us your load list so we can spec the bank and cable before you order.

Is a remote control included?

No. The RC-300 LCD remote is sold separately and connects with a 25 foot cable. The inverter is fully operable without it from the front panel.
