What You Are Actually Buying
- Check the amp hours on the old label first - a matching case does not guarantee a matching rating, and this is the single thing that catches people out on a cross-reference.
- 1,800 cycles at 30 percent depth of discharge - against 400 cycles at a full 100 percent, both at 25°C, which is how CSB rates life on this range.
- 400 amps over 5 seconds - the published peak discharge, with 1,082 amps of short circuit current behind it.
- No float charging voltage is published - CSB prints a dash in that row for the EVX range, so this block belongs in cycling duty rather than permanent float standby.
- 12.00 amps maximum charge current - worth checking against the charger already in the equipment before the block goes in.

Where This Battery Is Used
- Powered wheelchairs and mobility scooters - the duty CSB names first for the EVX range, and the most common home for a battery in this case.
- Patient lifts and medical transport equipment - daily cycling on a fixed charge routine rather than standby.
- Utility electric vehicles and floor machines - packs drawn down over a shift and recharged overnight.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the same battery as the Interstate part, or an equivalent?
An equivalent, and we would rather say so plainly. What ships is a CSB EVX12400, a different manufacturer's battery selected because the case dimensions and the terminal match the slot. It is not an Interstate product and it is not built on Interstate's specification. Everything published on this page comes from CSB's own datasheet, so you can check each figure against the source rather than taking our word for the comparison.
What happens if my old battery was rated higher than 40 amp hours?
You get less run between charges, in roughly the ratio of the two numbers. A 50 amp hour block replaced with a 40 gives about four fifths of the previous runtime, and on a mobility chair or a floor machine that is the difference a user notices first. Where the label says more than 40, quote the CSB EVX12520 at 52 amp hours instead. It is a group 22NF case rather than this footprint, so send your tray dimensions and a specialist will confirm which of the two goes in.
Does the threaded insert match what came out?
CSB specifies an I2 insert taking an M6 bolt at 44.9 lbf-in, plus or minus 9.0, while the CSB price list records the standard terminal for this part as B2 / I. Those describe different hardware, so on a cross-reference it is worth settling before the box ships. Send a photo of the connection you are undoing with your quote request and a specialist confirms the build against CSB.
Will it work in a UPS or an alarm panel?
We would point you somewhere else. CSB publishes no float charging voltage for the EVX range and builds it to IEC 60254, the traction standards, which means it is designed to be discharged and recharged rather than held at full charge for years. Standby equipment wants a float rated block. Tell a specialist what the battery powers and you will get the right family rather than the nearest physical match.
Send a photo of the label on the battery you are replacing along with the tray dimensions. A specialist confirms the amp hours and the terminal before anything ships, and quotes it in writing.
