GNB Marathon
GNB Marathon battery replacements: start with the exact M12V or M6V number
If the Marathon model in your cabinet is difficult to source, the full label is the way forward. We evaluate current CSB, Leoch and C&D alternatives against the old unit's electrical duty, case and terminals, then document the proposed replacement in a written quote. A similar voltage and amp-hour figure alone does not establish a safe cross.
Request a commercial quoteMatch the label
Send the complete M12V or M6V code and a photo of its terminals. An abbreviated capacity alone is not enough to match.
Check the duty
We compare discharge data, required runtime, case dimensions, terminal position and charging profile.
Quote the supplied brand
The quoted CSB, Leoch or C&D unit carries its own applicable manufacturer warranty, confirmed in writing.
Common Marathon models and evaluated replacement routes
These are our starting points for a fit and duty review. Mixing brands or ages in an existing series string is a separate question we check on the quote. The exact case variant and warranty must be confirmed on the quote.
| Legacy model | Evaluated replacement route | Review before ordering |
|---|---|---|
| M12V105FT | CSB TPL121000 | Confirm case variant, terminal and string configuration. |
| M12V155FT | CSB TPL121600 | Check the capacity rating basis and rack clearance. |
| M12V90FT | Leoch PLH100A primary; LPF12-100A alternate | Two different Leoch series with different warranty terms. The quote names the exact unit. |
| M12V180FT | CSB TPL121800 | Confirm performance and case fit on the quote. |
| M12V40 | CSB EVX12400, subject to application review | EVX is a deep-cycle line. We confirm the standby duty and runtime before quoting it. |
| M6V190 | C&D UPS6-625PLP | Six-volt application; confirm terminal and discharge requirement. |
A listed route is not a live inventory promise. We confirm availability, minimum order and freight for the exact model requested.
Why a simple part-number swap can fail
- Case variants differ. Front-terminal batteries with similar capacities may have different heights, depths and terminal details.
- Capacity needs a rating basis. Compare amp-hours at the same discharge rate and end voltage, then check constant-current or constant-power tables against the load.
- String condition matters. Replacing one unit in an older series string is a different decision from replacing the whole string. Manufacturer guidance may limit mixing.
Documents and next step
Use the legacy Marathon M-FT datasheet (PDF) to identify the installed unit. Send the label photo, quantity, application, UPS or cabinet model and delivery ZIP. We will provide the proposed unit's specification sheet and a written quote so your team can review the cross before ordering.
Marathon replacement questions
Is every Marathon battery discontinued?
Not as a blanket rule. The M12V and M6V numbers on this page are legacy identifiers, and Stryten Energy lists newer products for some former Marathon families. We check the exact model and application rather than assuming the name settles availability or fit.
Can I replace one legacy unit with a current battery?
Not without reviewing the string. Provide the installed model, age of the string and charger details. We will check the manufacturer's guidance and recommend the right scope of replacement.
What warranty applies?
The warranty comes from the replacement unit we quote. CSB, Leoch and C&D alternatives do not inherit a retired GNB warranty or a blanket HTBS house term. The exact term is confirmed in writing with your quote.
Get your Marathon cross checked
Send the old label, quantity and application. We will verify the proposed battery and return its details in writing. Written quote in 24 to 48 hours.
