Can the SS3HF charge a 36V trolling motor system?
Yes, that is its most common job. Three 12V batteries wired in series for a 36V motor connect as three separate 12V banks, and each one charges independently at 10 amps.
What changed from the original Sportsman SS3?
The SS3HF is the high-frequency replacement for the SS3. It weighs 9.2 lbs, adds a lithium (LiFePO4) charge profile, and lets you set the battery type on each bank. The original SS3 charged 12V wet cell and AGM batteries only.
Can I mix lithium and lead-acid batteries on one charger?
Yes. Each bank has its own battery type selector, so an AGM cranking battery and two lithium trolling batteries can share the charger. The lithium profile works with most 12V LiFePO4 batteries; send us your battery brand and we will confirm it is on Pro Charging Systems' approved list before you order.
What do the LED indicators tell you?
Each bank shows its state of charge across 30, 60, 90, and 100 percent lights, and the same LEDs blink diagnostic codes if a bank sees a fault, so you can read the whole system at a glance from the dock.
