What is the difference between the SS2HF and the original SS2?
The SS2HF is the high-frequency redesign of the SS2. It is about four pounds lighter, adds 24V system support, and adds selectable charge profiles per bank, including lithium. The original charged 12V wet cell and AGM batteries only. Both deliver 10 amps per bank across two independent outputs.
Will it charge lithium batteries?
Yes. Set any bank to the LiFePO4 profile and it charges most 12V lithium marine batteries. Pro Charging Systems recommends confirming your battery brand is approved, so if you are unsure, send us the battery model and we will check before you order.
Can I leave it plugged in all season?
Yes. Float maintenance mode holds charged batteries at full without overcharging, which is exactly how most owners store a boat over winter or between trips.
How long does a full charge take?
Divide the amp-hours you need to put back by 10. A 100Ah battery drawn down to half needs about 50Ah, so plan on five to six hours. Both banks charge at the same time, so two batteries take no longer than one.
