The Deltran Battery Tender Power Plus 10A is a 12 volt lead-acid charger with three selectable outputs: 10, 6 or 2 amps. At 10 amps it brings a full-size truck or marine battery back overnight. At 2 amps it maintains a motorcycle or lawn tractor battery through the off-season. A fourth setting turns it into a 12 volt, 10 amp power supply that keeps a vehicle's electronics powered while the battery is out. It runs Deltran's four-step cycle (initialization, bulk, absorption, float) on flooded, AGM and gel batteries.

What the 022-0229 Did, and What Replaced It

Match the output to the battery instead of buying two chargers: 10 amps for a truck or boat, 6 for a car, 2 for a bike or a small tractor.
Power supply mode
Set to supply, it holds a steady 12 volts at 10 amps on the vehicle's cables so radio presets, seat memory and the engine computer survive a battery swap.
The 022-1006 that replaces it
Same 10 amp headline output, plus a LiFePO4 lithium profile and an IP67 sealed case the Power Plus never had. Everything this unit did, the new one does, and it works in a bilge or an outdoor enclosure.

What is the difference between the 022-0229 and the 022-1006?

Both deliver 10 amps at 12 volts. The 022-0229 has 10, 6 and 2 amp settings plus a power supply mode and charges lead-acid only. The 022-1006 has 10 and 2 amp settings, adds a LiFePO4 lithium profile, and is sealed to IP67 so it can live on a boat or in an outdoor enclosure. The newer unit also costs less.

Does the Power Plus 10A charge lithium batteries?

No. Its profiles are built for flooded, AGM and gel lead-acid batteries. If you own a LiFePO4 battery or plan to switch to one, buy the 022-1006 instead; its lithium setting uses the higher absorption voltage that chemistry needs.

What does the power supply setting do?

It turns the charger into a steady 12 volt, 10 amp source. Clip it to the vehicle's cables while the battery is out and the settings that normally reset during a swap stay put.
