DEKA Unigy UPS U1HR1500 High Rate Series Battery
DEKA Unigy UPS U1HR1500 High Rate Series Battery
Deka Unigy U1HR1500 Battery - 12V 119 WPC High Rate UPS AGM
Warranty
High-Rate Power in the U1 Footprint
- Sealed AGM VRLA - puncture-resistant glass mat separators, heat-sealed case and cover, epoxy-sealed posts, and flame-arresting self-sealing valves, each 100 percent factory tested.
- UL 1973 certification - for energy storage applications, with construction meeting UL recognition requirements and IEEE recommended practices.
- Flame-retardant polypropylene case - UL 94 V-0 rated with a limiting oxygen index above 28 percent, reinforced against bulging.
- Float window published - 13.50V per battery plus or minus 0.5 percent at 77°F, the same setting as every other 12V block in the Unigy range.
- Factory acceptance testing offered - East Penn will discharge a string at the 10-minute rate to 1.67 VPC and report it, an option worth pricing when a small string feeds equipment that cannot be load-tested on site.

Where This Battery Is Used
- Rack-mount and tower UPS strings - the U1 footprint is the group size many 1 to 3 kVA UPS battery trays are cut for.
- Small switchgear and control panels - trip and close power where the cabinet has room for a 7.72 inch block and no more.
- Distributed edge and network closets - a few minutes of ride-through at a modest load, with a block one person can carry and swap.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the U1HR1500 design life 5 years when the rest of the High Rate line says 10?
Because East Penn publishes it that way on Form 2045. The larger Unigy High Rate blocks carry a 10-year float design life; this one carries 5. The flyer states the figure without a reason, so we publish it as printed. Plan the replacement cycle on 5 years at 77°F, shorter if the closet runs warm, and treat the 1-year warranty as the separate figure it is.
How do I read 119 watts per cell against my UPS?
A UPS battery specification names watts per cell at a discharge time and end voltage. Multiply 119 by the six cells in a 12V block to get 714 watts per block at 15 minutes to 1.67 VPC, then multiply by the blocks in your string. If your UPS calls for a different runtime, use the matching column: 247 watts per cell for 5 minutes, 70.2 for 30, 40.6 for 60. Send the UPS model and the runtime you need and a specialist confirms the string against the table.
Can the U1HR1500 replace a generic U1 AGM in my UPS?
If the footprint, terminal and rating match, yes. Check three things: the tray takes a 7.72 by 5.21 by 6.68 inch block, the leads reach a top quarter-inch 20 threaded insert, and the watts-per-cell rating meets or exceeds what the UPS manufacturer specifies at your runtime. A photo of the label on the block coming out settles most of it before the quote goes out.
What is the difference between the U1HR1500 and the 45HR2000?
Size and rating. The 45HR2000 is the next block up: 168 watts per cell at 15 minutes, 8.99 by 5.47 by 8.27 inches, 40 lbs, with a 10-year design life and a 3-year East Penn term. If the tray has the extra 1.6 inches of height, the 45HR2000 gives about 40 percent more power and a longer service life; if it does not, the U1HR1500 is the block that fits.
