Why do I see this battery listed as E31 SLD G and MK30HG?
Manufacturers revise designations between catalog generations, and this model wears three. 8G30H is the long-standing part number and the one this page sells under; the current spec sheet prints it as 8G30H (E31 SLD G), the E31 marking the BCI 31-class case; and MK's newest product finder also lists the build as MK30HG. One battery, one set of ratings, three names, so match on any of them with confidence.
Is the 8G30H a 85 Ah battery or a 97.6 Ah battery?
Older literature carried 85 Ah at the 20-hour rate, and that figure still circulates in dealer listings. MK's current spec sheet, revised July 2025, publishes 97.6 Ah at the 20-hour rate and 108 Ah at the 100-hour rate, and the current sheet governs what ships today. Size your bank from the 97.6 figure and treat 85 Ah listings elsewhere as out-of-date paper rather than a different battery.
What connects to a B (T876) terminal?
A flag-style terminal with a through-hole that takes a bolted ring lug, which is why the catalog also calls this a nut and bolt connection. It gives a compact battery a full-current bolted joint without a tall post, keeps overall height at 9.75 inches, and torques with ordinary hand tools. If your cables currently end in SAE post clamps, plan on switching to ring lugs when this battery goes in.
