Deka Unigy HR7000ET Battery - 12V 700 WPC High Rate Front Access

The HR7000ET is a front-access block in Deka's Unigy High Rate series rated 700 watts per cell at the 15-minute rate to 1.67 volts per cell, in a 20.77 by 8.43 by 9.35 inch case at 144 lbs. Unlike the slim 4.97 inch front-terminal cases elsewhere in the Deka range, this is a wide, low block, under 9.5 inches tall, with the quarter-inch 20 threaded inserts on the front face for aisle service. East Penn publishes the constant-power table on Form 2202, from 1,536 watts per cell at one minute to 258 at sixty, on the Unigy High Rate construction: greater than 98 percent pure lead tin-calcium positive grid, IPF plate forming, UL 94 V-0 polypropylene case.

Warranty

Warranty. East Penn's term on the Unigy High Rate front access models is 4 years under E.P.M. Form 0986. Design life is a separate figure: 10 years in float applications at 77°F is East Penn's published estimate on Form 2202. Terms are confirmed in writing with your quote.

700 Watts in a Low, Wide Case

700 watts per cell at 15 minutes
1,139 watts per cell at 5 minutes, 1,536 at 1 minute, 258 at 60 minutes, to 1.67 VPC at 77°F on East Penn's Form 2202 table.
9.35 inches tall
More than three inches lower than the 12.74 inch HR7500ET, so a shelf pitch cut for 10-inch blocks takes it; the 8.43 inch width is where the volume goes.
4.2 kW per block
Six cells at 700 watts is 4,200 watts per block at the 15-minute rate, 168 kW of battery output from a 40-block string before inverter losses.
  • Sealed AGM VRLA - micro-porous glass mat separators, heat-sealed case and cover, epoxy-sealed posts, flame-arresting self-sealing valves; each 100 percent factory tested.
  • UL 1973 and UL recognition - energy storage certification, with construction meeting UL recognition requirements and IEEE recommended practices.
  • Polypropylene case, UL 94 V-0 - flame-retardant with a limiting oxygen index above 28 percent, reinforced against bulging.
  • Float window published - 13.50V per battery, plus or minus 0.5 percent at 77°F; 13.42V to 13.57V.
  • Factory acceptance testing offered - an optional East Penn discharge at the 10-minute rate to 1.67 VPC with a formal report and a baseline ohmic reading for each block.

Where This Battery Is Used

  • Large UPS battery cabinets with front-access shelves - 32 to 40 blocks wired and serviced from the aisle.
  • Data center rows with a low shelf pitch - where a 9.35 inch block clears and a 12.74 inch block does not.
  • Industrial and utility ride-through - minutes of high power to an orderly shutdown or a generator start.

Ordering and Freight

The HR7000ET sells in minimum quantities of four. At 144 lbs per unit a string ships freight pre-paid by LTL to commercial addresses; a residential or limited-access delivery adds $100, which is the liftgate and access charge the carrier bills us. Send the quantity, your delivery ZIP and your requested-by date, and a specialist returns a written quote with volume pricing in 24 to 48 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the HR7000ET differ from the HR7500ET?

Shape more than rating. The HR7500ET gives 750 watts per cell from a tall, narrow 24 by 4.97 by 12.74 inch case at 150 lbs; the HR7000ET gives 700 from a low, wide 20.77 by 8.43 by 9.35 inch case at 144 lbs. Both are front access on East Penn's 4-year tier with the same 10-year design life. The cabinet decides: narrow deep shelves take the 7500, wide shallow shelves take the 7000. If both fit, the 50 watts per cell is the only difference that matters.

Why is the HR7000ET wider than the other front-access blocks?

East Penn packages this rating in an 8.43 inch wide case rather than the 4.97 inch case it uses for most of the 12AVR and HT front-access telecom blocks and for the HR7500ET. The result is a block 9.35 inches tall instead of 11 to 13, which matters in a cabinet with a fixed shelf pitch. The flyer does not state a reason beyond the dimensions; read them against your shelf drawing before ordering.

Can one HR7000ET string carry 150 kW for 15 minutes?

Forty blocks at 4,200 watts each is 168 kW of battery output at the 15-minute rate to 1.67 VPC at 77°F, so a 150 kW battery load fits with margin, before the UPS inverter's own losses are applied. At 30 minutes the string carries about 107 kW and at 60 minutes about 62 kW. Send the UPS model, the load and the runtime and a specialist confirms the string count against East Penn's table.

Which end voltage should I size the HR7000ET to?

Whichever your UPS manufacturer specifies. East Penn publishes six rows from 1.60 to 1.75 volts per cell; the 15-minute rating moves from 721 watts per cell at 1.60 down to 651 at 1.75. Most three-phase UPS specifications name 1.67, which is the headline 700 watt row, but a UPS set to a higher cutoff needs the 1.70 or 1.75 row. A string sized to the wrong row will come up short of the runtime on the UPS nameplate.

The tall, narrow alternativeThe Unigy HR7500ET delivers 750 watts per cell at the 15-minute rate in a 4.97 inch wide front-access case.
