Pure Sine Wave

Pure Sine Wave

Pure sine wave or perfect wave inverters are designed for converting DC to AC voltage using a filtering process to produce a smooth and consistent flow of power. The transfer from direct current to alternating current will typically result in what is called a modified wave or square wave which is not the optimum desired wave type for important electronic appliance usage.

A few common applications that require pure sine wave inverters are medical equipment, electronics that are microprocessor controlled, and digital clocks. Most other smaller or simple devices such as cell phone or laptop chargers do not carry a need for such scrutinized filtering of the actual sine wave in order to perform their task. These power inverters will come with the same wattage and voltage capabilities as modified sine wave units as seen below. Please keep in mind that it is important to carefully evaluate the total wattage required of your applications that you plan to hook to your inverter prior to purchase.
