What exactly is Pure Lead?

All AGM batteries utilize lead plates contained and sealed within a heavy duty plastic casing. There are several types of  lead (Pb) used in batteries with the most common being recycled or repurposed lead. Pure Lead or Virgin Lead is defined as untouched and a recently mined material which has never been used in the industries of battery recycling. Lead is obtained from a method with many other metals. The first step of the process in generating lead starts by heating ore in the air to create lead oxide Pbo2. The newly created PbO2 when heated with pure carbon will remove the oxygen away leaving Pure Lead. The incorporation of Pure Lead in battery manufacturing provides the highest of quality and overall lifetime longevity of a battery.
